FS-62B Firing System
P/N 188-7413
(supersceeds FS-62 Firing Unit)

DESCRIPTION
The FS-62B Exploding Bridgewire Firing Unit is a single component capacitor discharge unit which has its ownbattery energy supply. This unit fires automatically when it is armed and the capacitor reaches 4,000 volts.

FEATURES

  • 8 to10 second firing time after pressing Arm/Fire button
  • Output energy is the discharge of a one microfarad capacitor at 4000 +/- 10% volts
  • Trigger occurs when a ceramic/gas filled gap reaches 4,000 volts
  • This low inductance unit will function RISI EBW Detonators using 100 feet of RISI Twin Lead
  • Blasting Wire or 300 feet of RISI coaxial cable
  • Battery power is 4 Type C batteries which will provide approximately 100 firings
  • Unit is contained in a water tight case when the lid is closed. The seal is good to 30 feet under water.
  • Unit and case weighs 4.6 lbs
  • Dimensions (with case closed and handle folded): Width 9.5 inches • Depth 7.75 inches • Height 4.375 inches
  • High Voltage Present Safety Light
  • Key Lock Safety Switch
APPLICATIONS
  • General explosive initiation when simplicity is desired and the explosive can be safely detonated from
  • 100 foot distances using blasting wire or 300 feet with coaxial cable
  • When there is no 110 v ac power available
  • When the safety of EBW detonators or ignitors is required or desired
  • When accurate trigger timing is not required
Caution: While EBW and EFI Initiators are inherently less susceptible to accidental detonation during handling and set-up than devices containing primary explosives, electrical and electronic firing systems are sensitive to transient electrical energies which could cause premature triggering or firing. The blasting area must be clear of personnel and equipment before the detonator leads are connected to any RISI Firing System. Only approved RISI Firing Systems should ever be used to initiate or detonate any explosive product manufactured and authorized for sale by RISI.
